5-Stars ALL the way --- cover-to-cover!Saturday night, I bought this book...desperate for info on Ecuadorian Hermit Crabs...mine had stopped eating, drinking, & coming out of their shells completely. I was scared they were dying...The pet stores really tried hard to help with GREAT advice & sympathy...but nothing seemed to help.So many people had said to offer ALL crabs SALT WATER. And I had given them a SMALL dish of it plus a LARGE bowl of chlorine-free water to swim in.Well, that is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Ecuadorian Hermit Crabs REQUIRE TO LIVE!!! And I learned that HERE in THIS BOOK!So, I immediately reversed the containers (putting the chlorine-free water in the SMALL dish and the SALT WATER in the LARGE bowl.The next morning, I found 2 of my 4 Ecuadorians SOAKING in the SALT WATER! And later in the day, a 3rd was SOAKING in the SALT WATER --- WITHOUT HIS SHELL!!!I am THRILLED to say...that all 4 Ecuadorian Hermit Crabs are back to normal! But now, I simply CANNOT KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THEIR DAILY SALT WATER SPA Routine!

We have had our little hermies for about three weeks. They at first seemed depressed but then started fighting all the time and wrecking their home. So instead of getting them counseling, I sought out a guide because it became clear the pet store did not tell us everything on how to care for these little guys, and they did not have a hermit care guide like this available at the store but rather a pamphlet. This book did explain different behaviors and how to help your hermit cope which of course the pet store left out. I really like the section about their dietary needs and treats that you can safely give them. I was wondering why one of them was stealing my popcorn. Since we just started on their crabitat, I found the shopping list and pricing helpful as we plan to expand and decorate their home. I am very glad I found this book to help me care for my hermit crabs as it fills in the holes that the glorious pet store left out when they sold them to us.

I didn't realize so much went into having a hermit crab as a pet. Unfortunately, I like most people only see or buy hermit crabs when visiting the beach. Those poor crabs have the shells painted and usually die within a few days/weeks. Following the directions in this book, I have had my hermit crab for over 3 months and going.

I am a teacher and our school system gave us curriculum for our second graders called "Hermatopia" about creating a perfect habitat for hermit crabs. Since I never had hermit crabs, I purchased this book. It had lots of good advice on hermit crab care and I am glad I got it. So are my hermit crab "babies"!

I set up a crabitat in my daughter's 6th grade class. I gave them a crash course on proper care of hermies then gifted this book with the crabitat as a resourse for thier research. They all loved being able to read all of the research on the care and safe keeping of hermies. Awesome resource for the novice and intermediate hermie caregiver.

This book is very informative. Gives you the basics on setting up a home, feeding and care for your hermit crabs. I wish I would've had this book before we got our crabs. Cannot wait to put this information to use.

I am using this book as a "practice-first" guide to mathematics for the guy in his thirties, who struggles to understand why his high education was not done right 15 years ago, and do it so by himself this time.Accompanied by the lectures on the subject (search the title on youtube), this is likely the best book on math out there for motivated unexperienced reader.It will throw you to many practical fields of mathematics, and, having enough time, one can continue wandering and hunting for different subjects while eating this dish chapter by chapter (or lecture by lecture). For me, who has the luxury of not following any education plan, this is a delicious experience.

I agree with what another reviewer said:"if all math books are written in this clarity, the number of students in physics/engineering would rise considerably".This is the one of the clearest textbooks I ever seen in my college life.Clear words, helpful figures, many examples, ...This book is perfect for self-study.

Preface: I'm a physicist first and a mathematician second, so rigor is less my focus than ideas. That said, this is the best math textbook I've ever read. I decided to start reading it the day before my class started, but by the time I walked into the class I was already to chapter 4 - the book was that easy to read. (I jumped into a higher level class because I knew I would be done the book in a week anyway.) If there was ever a math textbook I would recommend to people from outside of math, this would be it.

An outstanding book. I'm an empirical biologist with just a bit of (long distant) math background. This has been excellent source for me to supplement a systems biology course I am developing. I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate the appeal to intuition and specific examples and not just a series of one equation derivation after another. Well worth it!

This book was the textbook in a course on nonlinear dynamics that I took. The course covered most of chapters 2-8 (chapter 1 is an introduction and is very short), so please consider my comments from that context. Speaking personally as an individual student- I tend to rely very heavily on my textbooks for learning and generally read them deeply. This book was no exception.Overwhelmingly, the great strength of this book is the quality of the writing style. This is a very rare math book in that it is actually fun to read. The examples are for the most part very good- easy to follow and understand. The author focuses a lot on the big picture perspective of the techniques involved and does a superb job of developing a very good intuition and feel for nonlinear systems. In fact, the prose is so readable, I would not have any hesitation recommending this book for someone wanting to teach them self the topic (assuming the necessary background of course). I feel that this book could easily accommodate such a student.Another great strength of this book is the way that ideas build upon one another. The author has masterfully written a book in which your intuition about early concepts pave the way for understanding later concepts even though missing some ideas in the beginning will not cripple you in later chapters. (IE, in many books if you do not understand chapter 1, you will fail in chapter 2, etc...)The problems are very doable, but yet seem to capture the essence of ideas in the chapters well. This is in contrast to many books in which the easy problems are practically busy work, and the problems that teach you something require you to saw off your left foot. The author strikes a nice balance here. Another nice feature is that the author draws actual models from a broad range of disciplines to build the practice problem sets and worked examples.The only real complaint I have about this book (as a pure math guy), is that this book is VERY skimpy on the theory(as in proofs and connection with deeper ideas)- but I think this book is targeted to a non-mathematics or an applied math audience. Personally, I found this frustrating and somewhat unsatisfying, but consider the nature of the class/audience. The author does sprinkle some theory around, such as the occasional reference to Topology and a section on index theory- but don't blink, you might miss it. The author rarely provides proof for theorems, those that he does provide are generally very simple and seem to be provided for their intuitive value rather than rigorous completeness. I considered giving it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the lack of rigor, but both considering its intended audience and its effectiveness at building intuition dismissed that consideration quickly. If you are looking for a book that digs into the theory, this is definitely not the book for you- at least not as a primary reference.Another minor shortcoming (not so much a short coming as quality which is lacking which could make this book better) is that the book provides practice problems for use on a computer(appropriately) but does not provide any example code at all. This is not a big deal, a quick google search could easily provide you with a basic demonstration of the syntax necessary to plot a system using the language of your choice, but still. Personally, I would not let such a thing be a deal breaker for this book. (At least the author has not taken the other extreme and written the book entirely around one particular proprietary language!)Despite these shortcomings, I strongly recommend this book either as a primary text for a course in nonlinear dynamics targeted to a non-pure-math audience, or as a secondary reference for anyone. I think this is a great book that will serve you well!Oh, if the author is reading this post-ADD MORE COLOR PICTURES OF CHAOTIC SYSTEMS PLEASE!! I love looking at those!

This is nothing more than a blank notebook with plain white paper and a heading of "My Awesome Stickers" on each page. I should've just stapled together bond paper for my kids to put their stickers on! Complete waste of money.

This is not a sticker album - it is a book with paper in it. A sticker album has paper gloss laminated paper which allows the children to reuse the stickers.

Thought the sheets would be different material other than paper. If you put your stickers on here you will not be able to remove them.

This book resonates with me so completely. As I read through the second chapter, on a plane heading towards an all expenses paid cruise for two that I earned from building my NEW American Dream, I realized just how much truth is between the pages of this book. With each area of growth needed, the tools for successs are provided. The rest is up to you!

I was in tears reading the intro as so much of what was said resonated with me. Sam is real and shares her story in such a sensitive and touching way that you immediately connect with her and want to sit and have coffee together so you can learn from her and soak up all of her insight and wisdom! It is hard to pick a favorite chapter because they each have a focus that resonates with me which makes me want to keep reading and reading. Chapter 6 ends with #learningtosoar, after she shares her personal story and weaves you through a journey to the next step; applying your experience to your business. In Chapter 7: Let's Talk Business, the 1st paragraph could have been written by me. "How does one grow to be a leader? They grow into a leadership mindset. I have alwaysconsidered myself both an independent free-spirit, but also one who could followsomeone’s lead. But, mostly I really just wanted to do my own thing." I have found common ground in so many areas with this author and I've gained practical insight and practices to continue my journey of living life as a Freedom Parent and you will, too!

My Rabbi recommended me this book to assist me in my Orthodox Jewish conversion. Although I am just about halfway through the book, I have learned a lot! The author does a terrific job making Judaism practical. We read about all the rituals, and laws....but do we really understand its practical use? This book does so! My only criticism..... is that she does go into a little too much detail, to the extent of finding myself zoning out. The longest chapter, Chapter 1, is about Shabbos (roughly 40 pages). The author literally discusses, in great detail, how to prepare for Shabbos, Friday night rules/pleasures, all the way through Havdala on Saturday evening. This is especially great as it gives you a sense of "I understand the general flow of the day." However, there are times when she goes on a rant about her family as it relates to one specific topic. All in all, this is the perfect book! It includes Talmudic references, Sefer torah references, and some neat history. Another aspect I loved about this book is that the majority of the chapters get straight to the point and are about 10-20 pages. If you are considering conversion to Orthodox Judaism, or even want to study upon it, this book is for you! My Rabbi also recommended me: "Understanding Judaism" By Rabbi Benjamin Blech, and "The Book of Our Heritage" by Eliyahu Kitov. All three of these should get you started out on the right path. I will update this review accordingly after I have finished this book.

This is one of the books on the Sydney Beth Din's recommended reading list for conversion candidates. It stands out from the others because it is clearly written from a female perspective. There is a lot of overlap between this and another of their recommended books, Donin's "To Be a Jew", in regards to topics covered. Both books comprise of major sections addressing life stages, chagim and day-to-day living. The core information is the same, as it should be. So if you have already read that, you may not want this title because it goes over the same material. That said, I prefer this title though because of the anecdotes she relates as a wife and a mother, and opinions on things makes it less impersonal, and more warm and conversational. When I quickly need to check how to do something, out of all my texts, this is the title I reach for most frequently.

✰ I love how practical this book is... it is filled with heart, Soul, prayers and practical instructions. If I need to hang up a mezuzah, I can easily find the how-to instructions complete with prayers. Need to know what to do during, or how to deal with, a birth, a death, or most other Jewish life experiences... the answer is in the book (easily found via the helpful index in the back). I love that the book also includes some delicious recipes for Jewish home-cooking. The cycles of the year, and the related holidays, are an essential part of being Jewish and this book makes it easy to prepare for and enjoy the entire year and all of the holidays. Finally, the writing style is very warm, includes family anecdotes, and makes the reader feel as if they are observing, or a part of, Mrs. Greenberg's family. That makes the book an especially pleasant read. ✰

If there is an aspect of Jewish life, in the household or out, that you would like to know about, this book has it.It is clear that this was a labor of love, and Ms. Greenburg clearly tackled her task with love, good humour, and an accurate eye for details that would have escaped many writers.The text is interesting, well-written, flows well, gives you what you want to know or need to know, whether your are new to Judaism, coming back to your Jewish roots, a practicing Jew who wants to know more about living a more "kosher" life, or just for the gentile who wants to know all about Judaism.It is humourous where it's appropriate, serious where it's not, but the one thing it never is is boring. A most informative, enlightening and entertaining book. I can only say thanks, Blu, for writing such a great book.

Oh my gosh I am LOVING this book! It's the closest I've found to an instruction manual for Orthodox living--but it doesn't read like that at all! It's an incredibly clear look into the Orthodox lifestyle, with a very personable, honest voice. I will keep this book forever and refer back to it frequently!

I read this book cover to cover in 1994 and it inspired me to convert to Judaism. Yesterday I gave this book as a gift to a young secular Jewish co worker seeking to explore becoming more religious. Barely into a few pages she came up to me breathlessly exclaiming, “I love this book! It’s the way she writes.” Exactly.
