A beautiful book that provides a glimpse into a forgotten part of Native American history and art.
Yes, five stars, but only for the fantastic ledger art. Of the seven essays, two were pretty good, the rest were just too scholarly which made them boring. Some of it was painful but I pushed myself. However, pages 45-188 contain numerous examples of fascinating ledger art, so I'm going to recommend it.
